I am an artist and writer living in West Dorset. My current work consists of drawings (pastel, charcoal and pencil) and textiles (hand-stitching and applique).
I am inspired by line, detail, texture, colour, and movement, as well as character, mood, expression, and emotion.
My writing often overlaps with, or informs, my artwork, and is inspired by my musings, memories, observations and daydreams.
I studied Fine Art as part of a BA (Hons) Humanities at the University of Glamorgan. Later on, following a short Picture Book course at Brighton University, I completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Children's Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art, Anglia Ruskin University. It was whilst living in Brighton, and studying book illustration, that I began to further develop my writing.
I write poetry, free verse and prose, some of which I stitch. I also write stories for children and adults.
I have worked as an artist devising and running art and craft workshops for all ages from early years to adults. I have worked in nurseries, schools, libraries, galleries and museums. I worked both independently, and in collaboration with other artists and organisations.
